Position title: Driver

 

Purpose of position: To safely transport children to and from school and field trips. Drivers are there to endure all travels will be conducted in a safe, reliable and lawful manner as well as assuring the vehicle of utilization is kept in proper care for the safety of all passengers. This position is also to utilize down time to offer extra help, to aide and assist as needed with the classrooms of the facility.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or higher.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • A valid Iowa drivers license; safe, clean driving experiences and driving record.

  • At least 25 years of age.

  • Adult and child CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.

  • Complete and pass background check process.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Abide by all federal, state, and company, laws and regulations.

  • Drop off and pick up before and after school.

  • Field trips and special activities off the center premises.

  • Assist in store runs.

  • Assist teachers in conducting safety checks on children, assuring seatbelts are fastened and appropriate seating is utilized.

  • Conduct safety checks ensuring no need for maintenance and/or repair.

  • Vacuum and shampoo carpet; remove spots and stains from carpet.

  • Responsible for cleaning and refueling of vehicle after each class trip. Remove paper, trash/garbage.

  • Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations; adhere to the district’s state and federal policies and procedures.

  • Flexibility in hours according to time of field trips and special occasions.

  • Other related duties may be assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbally & written); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policies and procedures. District and state travel may or may not be required; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Be able to adjust and function in different environments and settings. Extremely responsible, reliable, punctual and committed.

Position title: Center Lead Teacher- Full Time

 

Purpose of position: The center lead teacher will lead and guide the teaching staff in implementing curriculum. Providing accurate assessment of child development in all areas. The lead teacher will carry out the childcare mission and values by providing high quality child care services to children and parents by possessing honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety and health of every child.

  • Supervision and direction of assistant teachers and volunteers.

  • Become familiar with Iowa Early Learning Standards and guidelines.

  • Collaboratively working with and/or following the guidelines of the Program Director and Assistant Program Director in planning & implementing a full day, year round curriculum with themes and lesson plans.

  • Leading in the implementation of daily plans and activities.

  • Supervising children and participate with children in activities.

  • Maintain program site and equipment. (cleaning and rotating of toys and general upkeep of the classroom.

  • Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis and conduct parent conferences two times out of the year.

  • Making daily observations and child evaluations.

  • Provide consistent, positive caring environments to children in your care.

  • Form and maintain professional relationships with parents and co-workers of all positions.

  • Mentor assistant teachers.

  • Able to attend ongoing professional development training when needed.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Meet Iowa DHS Lead Teacher qualifications.

  • At least 21 years of age.

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent; or must be enrolled in CDA program.

  • Two years or more of experience working with children in home or center setting.

  • For Three & Four Year Classrooms: A.S. in Early Childhood Education, preferably B.S.

  • Adult and child CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, leadership skills, and self-discipline.

  • A commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.

  • Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Available to work up to 40 hours per week.

Position title: Janitor

 

Purpose of position: Performs routine, manual work involving moderate to heavy cleaning of designated areas of a child care building such as classrooms, offices, restroom, kitchen and dining area, and hallways.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to communicate and follow verbal and written instructions

  • Maintain emotional control under stress.

  • Interpret policy, procedures.

  • Repetitive hand motions, frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pulling and pushing.

  • Move equipment such as desks and other classroom equipment.

  • Complete and pass background process.

  • Adult and child CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, wet and dry mop, strip, buff, and wax floors.

  • Vacuum and shampoo carpet; remove spots and stains from carpet.

  • Clean restroom floors, walls, sinks, urinals and toilets; replace toilet paper, towels, and soap; wash and polish fixtures; clean windows and mirrors.

  • Clean and wash tables, countertops and fixtures; set up tables and chairs, move furniture; dust furniture, desks, woodwork and blinds; replace light bulbs.

  • Remove paper, trash and garbage from assigned areas and place in proper areas for disposal.

  • Operate custodial equipment such as buffers, vacuum cleaners, shampoo machines and water extractor; may work in laundry and operate laundry equipment.

  • Patrol grounds around building; pick up paper, cans, trash and debris; clean walk ways

  • Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations; adhere to the district’s state & federal policies and procedures.

  • Any other related duties.

Position title: Center Assistant Teacher- Part Time

 

Purpose of position: The center assistant teacher will support the teaching staff implementing curriculum and the overall operation of the classroom.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Complete and pass background pass

  • Meet Iowa DHS Assistant Teacher qualifications.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Adult and child CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • A commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.

  • Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Available to work 20-30 hours per week.

  • Lead and participate in activities that may include running, throwing, and kicking.

  • Early childhood experience preferred.

  • Ability to adapt to the constantly changing emotional and physical needs of children.

Supervision received and exercised: General supervision is provided by the childcare director or by the center assistant director. Responsibilities may include the direct supervision of child care positions.

  • Ensure children are accounted for and proper record keeping.

Supervise childcare positions. Supervise and discipline school-aged children. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Established, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Operate a motor vehicle safely. Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and reach.

 

Requirements & Qualifications: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualified. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Training Guidelines: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level coursework in childhood education, recreation, physical education, teaching or a related files.

 

License and Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license and CDA.

Position title: Receptionist

 

Purpose of position: To set the initial tone of the building as one of the first representatives of the company families and guest will encounter. Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; notifies company personnel of visitor arrival; maintains security and telecommunications system.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.

  • Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions.

  • Maintains security by following procedures; monitor logbook; issuing visitor badges.

  • Maintains telecommunication system by following manufacturer’s instructions for house phone and console operation.

Position title: Childcare Volunteers

 

Purpose of position: Childcare volunteers are essential to the Safe Care Learning center experience! It is important the volunteers understand their role in caring for children so that management and lead teachers can continue to nurture and develop relationships with children and parents.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 16 years of age.

  • Produce immunization records and physical exam.

  • Criminal history and record check.

  • All volunteers must sign statement indication criminal conviction or history.

  • CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within 30 days of commitment date.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent physical care for children during all childcare shifts.

  • Following all procedures reviewed during orientation (standards for needs and services for infant and toddler childcare, diapering, sanitation procedures, etc.)

  • Representing Safe Care Learning Center by showing parents a kind, loving attitude at all times.

  • Working alongside other childcare volunteers and taking guidance from lead teachers and childcare administration.

  • Must be able to work out issues as a team, with the help of lead teachers, quickly and effectively.

  • Communicating to management any issues or concerns a parent may have related to childcare.

  • Assisting staff with check in/out procedures to assure drop off and pick up of children goes as quickly and smoothly as possible.
